| Obverse description | The obverse features a highly detailed relief of the Brian Boru Harp, Ireland's most celebrated medieval instrument and national symbol, depicted centrally in the field. The harp is rendered with fine detail showing its carved wooden soundboard, decorative forepillar, and taut strings. The bilingual legend IRLAND to the left and IRELAND to the right flanks the central device along the inner rim, with ÉIRE inscribed at the top in Irish.
