Reverse description The crowned arms of the States General of the Netherlands occupy the central field, elaborately rendered with a crowned lion as supporter on each side, each depicted rampant. A fantasy inscription encircles the entire composition, running along the outer border. The overall design reflects the heraldic tradition of the Dutch Republic, executed in the baroque style characteristic of large multiple-ducat pieces of the period.
