Obverse description Unadorned effigy of King Paul I facing left, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and facial features. The engraver's name FALIREAS appears in small letters below the truncation. The circular Greek legend reads ΠΑΥΛΟΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ, meaning 'Paul, King of the Greeks,' arranged around the periphery within a beaded border. The date appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by two raised dots.
