| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Otto of Greece facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed wavy hair swept back from the forehead and gathered at the nape. The portrait, executed in a Neoclassical style characteristic of Bavarian die-engraver Carl Friedrich Voigt, occupies the central field. The circular legend ΟΘΩΝ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ (Othon, King of Greece) runs along the upper periphery, while the engraver's name ΦΟΙΓΤ (Voigt) appears in small capitals at the base of the portrait. A beaded border frames the entire design. |
