Obverse description Green intaglio printing over orange and indigo underprint. At left, a vignette of an ancient Greek coin bearing the image of Poseidon; the denomination 20 appears at centre in large numerals. Inscriptions in Greek identify the issuing authority as the Kingdom of Greece, with the date 6 April 1940 and reference to Law 2155 of 12 December 1939.

Reverse description Indigo intaglio printing over a green underprint. A central vignette presents a view of the Parthenon on the Athenian Acropolis, framed by a classical meander guilloche border. The printer's imprint appears at the lower margin, and denomination numerals are repeated in each corner.
