| Additional information |
Palau has operated as a prolific novelty bullion issuer since the late 1990s, producing licensed collector pieces under arrangements that have little to do with domestic monetary policy — the islands' actual currency is the U.S. dollar. The "Young Girl" series belongs to a wave of high-relief, hand-painted silver rounds that Palau licensed through European minting intermediaries, primarily targeting the German and Austrian collector market rather than anything approaching circulation.
KM#918 places this within a catalogued series, but the Krause attribution is largely administrative — these pieces were designed, struck, and distributed entirely outside Palau.
