| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Liberia centrally within the field, depicting a sailing ship at sea with a palm tree and a rising sun on a quartered shield, flanked by a dove above and a cannon with plow below. A ribbon across the shield bears the motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE.
