| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Liberia centrally positioned in the field, depicting a sailing ship at sea, a dove in flight, a palm tree, and a rising sun over a shoreline, all within a shield surmounted by a scroll bearing the national motto. The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs around the upper periphery, while the motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE curves within an inner arc above the arms. The date 2000 is divided on either side of the shield, and the denomination 20 DOLLARS appears in the lower exergue. The design is struck to proof quality with a deeply mirrored field and finely frosted relief, framed by a beaded border. |
