| Obverse description | The obverse features the mature effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, as designed by Susanna Blunt, displaying the Queen with her characteristic coiffure and wearing a pearl necklace. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the left arc of the coin, while D•G•REGINA arcs along the right, both in raised Latin characters against the deeply mirrored proof field. A small Royal Canadian Mint privy mark in the form of a stylized maple leaf appears below the portrait at the base. The high-relief bust is rendered with fine detail against the polished field, consistent with Blunt's fourth effigy design adopted by the RCM from 2003 onward. |
