| Obverse description | The Liberian coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a three-masted sailing vessel at sea beneath a rising sun, with a palm tree to the right and a dove in flight above, all within a crowned shield supported by crossed implements. The national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE curves along the upper interior of the shield. The date 2000 is divided by the coat of arms at mid-field, with 20 to the left and 00 to the right. The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery and is repeated within a scroll beneath the shield.
