Reverse description Central to the design is a classical allegorical scene depicting Nike, the winged goddess of victory, riding a quadriga chariot in dynamic motion toward the left. Nike is shown holding a laurel wreath aloft in one hand, rendered in high relief with considerable sculptural depth. Flanking the central roundel are decorative olive branch sprays. The legend XXVIII OLYMPIC GAMES arcs along the upper rim in Latin characters, while the Greek inscription ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΙ ΑΓΩΝΕΣ appears within the lower portion of the design. The denomination $20 is shown in the lower field below the central scene.
