| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia occupies the central field, depicting a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, a rising sun, a plough, and a spade upon a shield, surmounted by a scroll bearing the national motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE'. The shield is flanked by two doves and supported by a ribbon scroll inscribed 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' in the lower exergue. The outer legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper rim, and the date '2003' is divided across the lower field on either side of the arms, all within a beaded border. |
