| Obverse description | Central vignette comprises an intaglio portrait of President Grover Cleveland set within an ornate oval frame, positioned left of center against a finely worked guilloche underprint. The blue Treasury seal appears at right, flanked by blue serial numbers at upper right and lower left. The legend identifies the note as a Federal Reserve Note of the Series of 1914, authorized by the Federal Reserve Act of December 23, 1913, with the obligation to pay the bearer on demand twenty dollars. |
