| Obverse description | The obverse displays the coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia in the central field, featuring a sailing ship on the sea, a palm tree, a dove in flight, a rising sun, and a plough and spade in the lower portion, all contained within a shield surmounted by a scroll bearing the motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE'. The shield is flanked by decorative foliage. The legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper periphery, with the date '2003' divided on either side of the central device, and a secondary inscription 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' appears on a scroll at the base of the arms.
