| Obverse description | Central field displays the full coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia, depicting a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, a plough and a spade in the foreground, and a rising sun on the horizon, all within a shield surmounted by a scroll bearing the national motto. The date 2004 is divided by the shield, with '20' to the left and '04' to the right. The outer legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs above, and a second legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' appears on a ribbon below the shield. The motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE' is inscribed on the scroll across the upper portion of the arms. |

| Additional information |
Liberia's early 2000s foreign-landmark silver series was a straightforward commercial operation — coins licensed for international sale, never intended for domestic circulation, produced in bulk for the collector market. The Ponte Vecchio, Florence's 14th-century bridge rebuilt after the 1345 flood collapse, lends its name here to a piece with no meaningful connection to Italy or its monetary history.
