| Obverse description | The Jamaican coat of arms is centrally displayed within a decorative circular wreath composed of floral and foliate elements. The shield bears a cross with five golden pineapples, flanked by two indigenous Taino figures as supporters, with a crocodile atop the helm above. The motto ribbon at the base of the arms reads OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, with the legend TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE and TWENTY DOLLARS arranged around the periphery, and the date range 1962–1972 positioned below the coat of arms in the field. |
