Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth and final effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as used on Canadian coinage, designed by Susanna Blunt, depicting the Queen's bare-headed portrait facing right, wearing a diamond necklace and drop earrings, as rendered at approximately 77 years of age. The legend ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA arcs along the upper periphery, with the regnal dates 1952 •••• 2022 inscribed below, flanked by the issue year 2023 and denomination 20 DOLLARS. The designer's initials SB appear near the truncation of the effigy.
