This piece belongs to the Royal Canadian Mint's ongoing collaboration with First Nations artists, a program that has produced some of the more technically ambitious bimetallic and selectively plated issues in modern Canadian numismatics. The gold plating on fine silver format has been used by the RCM to distinguish specific design elements, here applied to foreground imagery against the silver field rather than as a blanket finish — a production choice that requires precise masking during the electroplating stage.
