Part of the RCM's long-running "Encounter" subseries, this issue draws on Canada's tradition of packaging fine silver coins around wildlife subjects aimed squarely at the collector market rather than circulation. The .9999 fineness is notable — four-nines silver is purer than the .999 standard common to most bullion and collector issues, requiring tighter refining tolerances at the Ottawa facility.
