Obverse description The obverse features the fourth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch as a mature sovereign facing right, bare-headed, and wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a flat field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs across the upper field, while the denomination 20 DOLLARS and the legend D·G·REGINA appear in the lower field, flanking the date 2012. The initials SB appear below the truncation of the effigy, attributing the portrait to its engraver.
