| Additional information |
Fiji's Reserve Bank has issued commemorative silver rounds under its authority since the 1970s, but the dragon-themed issues of the early 2010s were squarely aimed at the Chinese collectibles market, timed precisely to the lunar calendar cycle. The embedded ruby — a synthetic corundum, not a mined stone — sits in a bezel setting added after striking, a common production method for this class of collector issue.
KM#231 has no meaningful circulation history. It was sold directly through numismatic distributors.
