Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA SB
(Translation: Elizabeth II Queen by the grace of God)
Reverse description The reverse presents a highly detailed, hand-applied colorized depiction of the Wild Rose (Rosa acicularis), Alberta's provincial floral emblem, rendered in vibrant pink tones against a polished silver field. Genuine Swarovski crystal elements are set within the composition to simulate glistening droplets of dew on the petals and leaves, adding a three-dimensional jewel-like quality to the design. The denomination 20 DOLLARS and country name CANADA appear in the legend, along with the date 2011, with the engraver's initials MB positioned discreetly within the design. The work is attributed to reverse engraver José Osio and represents the second coin in the Royal Canadian Mint's 20 for 20 series celebrating Canadian flora.
