| Obverse description | Left-facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II after Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted diademed and draped, occupying the lower-left quadrant of the field. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the portrait truncation. The field is elaborately textured in high relief to simulate a cratered planetary surface, with impact craters of varying sizes distributed across the entire face.
