Reverse description The reverse presents a richly detailed, colour-enhanced winter holiday scene centred upon a hand-crafted Venetian (Murano) glass snowman applied to the coin's surface. The snowman is rendered in white glass with an orange carrot nose, red buttons, a black top hat, and a green scarf, and stands upon a gently sloping snow-covered lawn. To the left, an evergreen tree decorated with multi-coloured glass ornaments, white garland, and luminous lights anchors the composition, with a pair of old-fashioned ice skates resting at its base. A curving ice path leads toward a warmly illuminated, snow-draped log cabin at the right, while a red cocoa mug rests on a snow-laden bench in the foreground. The legend CANADA 2014 20 DOLLARS arcs along the lower periphery, with the engraver's initials JC also present in the field.
