Issued as part of the Royal Canadian Mint's "Landmarks of Canada" series, this coin commemorates Toronto's then-iconic CN Tower and SkyDome precinct at the close of the millennium. The 2000 series was among the first Canadian silver commemoratives to be struck specifically for the collector market at the outset of a new century, with mintage tightly controlled to sustain secondary market demand — a strategy the RCM had refined aggressively through the 1990s.
