The Four Winds series takes its narrative hook from the voyageur canoe tradition, and this issue specifically references Henry Hudson's 1610–11 expedition into the bay that now bears his name. Hudson's crew mutinied in June 1611, setting him, his son, and seven loyal crew members adrift in a small shallop. None were ever seen again.
