Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, depicting the Queen in right-facing profile wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl necklace with drop earrings. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field, characteristic of Royal Canadian Mint craftsmanship. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the left rim and D·G·REGINA along the right rim, separated by two raised dots at the base. The date 2000 appears in the lower exergue below the portrait.
