Reverse description The reverse presents a strikingly detailed, full-color depiction of a spawning male Sockeye Salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) oriented to the right, its characteristic vivid crimson body and olive-green head rendered in selectively applied color enamel with exceptional naturalistic precision. The fish is shown in mid-swim above a finely engraved riverbed of rounded cobblestones, with additional salmon silhouettes and turbulent water surface texture visible in the matte silver background. The engraver's initials CA appear to the lower right of the central design within the field. The legend CANADA 2016 arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 20 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower border, all in incuse Latin lettering.
