| Obverse description | The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, depicting a right-facing portrait of the Queen at approximately 77 years of age, bare-headed, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination and country name appearing on the reverse. The effigy is rendered in fine relief against a smooth field, consistent with the standard Blunt portrait used on Canadian coinage from 2003 onward. |
