Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II CANADA 2013 D·G·REGINA 20 DOLLARS
(Translation: Elizabeth II Queen by the grace of God)
Reverse description The reverse presents an intricate design of over 100 finely engraved maple leaves radiating across the field, rendered in delicate low relief. At the centre, a single larger maple leaf is recessed and filled with vibrant red colour applied by the Royal Canadian Mint's selective colouring technique, creating a striking focal point against the polished silver ground. The design exemplifies the naturalistic artistic tradition of Canadian commemorative coinage. The reverse lettering consists of the engraver's initials JO in the field.
