Reverse description The reverse depicts a detailed scene commemorating the Burke-Gaffney Observatory in Nova Scotia, showing a figure looking through a large telescope set within an open observatory dome, its ribbed roof rendered in fine relief occupying the right portion of the field. The left and upper portions of the field feature vivid blue color printing depicting a star-filled night sky, with a centrally placed crystal glass insert simulating a celestial body or planet viewed through the eyepiece. The legend CANADA appears to the right in raised letters, with the date 2016 immediately below. The engraver's initials JK appear in the lower left field near the base of the telescope. The composition combines matte and proof finishes with color printing to create a striking multi-dimensional astronomical tableau.
