Additional information

Issued as part of the Royal Canadian Mint's ongoing fine silver wildlife series, this piece belongs to a run of collector coins the RCM expanded aggressively through the 2010s, targeting international bullion and numismatic markets simultaneously. The mountain goat — Oreamnos americanus — is native to North America's Pacific Coast ranges and is not, despite common assumption, a true goat but a rupicaprine bovid more closely related to the chamois.

The .9999 fineness designation became the RCM's commercial signature after it achieved that purity standard at scale in the 1990s, distinguishing its collector silver from the .999 norm used by most other sovereign mints.
