Obverse description The obverse features the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as designed by Susan Taylor, depicting a mature portrait of the Queen wearing a pearl necklace and earrings, with her characteristic coiffed hair. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper left field and 'D•G•REGINA' along the upper right, both rendered in raised capital letters. A fine beaded border encircles the design, set within a wide polished field that lends the portrait an elegant, cameo-like appearance. The engraver's initials 'ST' appear discretely below the truncation of the bust.
