The grizzly bear has appeared on Canadian coinage with enough frequency that the Royal Canadian Mint's recurring "wildlife" bullion and collector programs have become a reliable revenue line rather than a numismatic event. This 2024 issue falls within a long-running series format that the RCM has leaned on heavily since the early 2010s, when silver bullion collector coins became a significant part of the mint's commercial strategy following sustained high silver prices.
