Reverse description The reverse features a finely engraved depiction of a Curtiss HS-2L flying boat on water, marked with the registration G-CAAC and the legend LAURENTIDE AIR SERVICE on its hull, set against a backdrop of a rocky, forested Canadian shoreline. In the upper left, a selectively gold-plated oval cameo portrait of a bearded aviator in period fur-trimmed clothing is set within a beaded border, adding a contrasting gilt accent to the otherwise silver field. The initials JM appear to the right of the treeline in the field. The denomination CANADA 20 DOLLARS is inscribed in bold letters along the lower arc of the rim. The composition effectively combines fine engraving, selective gold plating, and proof surfaces to celebrate the early history of Canadian aviation.
