Reverse description The reverse depicts the celebrated Nova Scotian fishing and racing schooner Bluenose under full sail, shown underway on open, wind-swept seas with detailed rigging, hull, and wave work rendered in high relief against a proof-polished field. In the upper left quadrant, an inset holographic insert enclosed within a geometric octagonal frame portrays the Bluenose in iridescent multicolour, shifting with the viewing angle. The engraver's initials FW appear discreetly to the right of the vessel. The legend CANADA arcs along the lower left, and the denomination 20 DOLLARS appears in a rectangular cartouche at the lower right.
