Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile as a mature portrait at approximately 77 years of age, uncrowned and unadorned save for a necklace and earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 20 DOLLARS appears in the lower field. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a flat field, consistent with the standard Canadian collector coinage series of the period.

Reverse description The reverse presents a brilliantly colored Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) perched among autumn maple leaves rendered in vivid polychrome enamel in the foreground, creating a striking contrast against the engraved silver background. A tranquil park scene occupies the middle and background, featuring a stone-paved path leading toward a decorative footbridge, evoking a cultivated natural setting characteristic of Canadian parklands. The artist's initials TB appear in the lower right field, attributing the design to artist Trevor Tennant Brewster. The national inscription CANADA and the year of issue 2021 are engraved along the lower portion of the reverse. The combination of selective colorization and fine engraving exemplifies the Royal Canadian Mint's nature series collector coin production.
