Additional information

Part of the RCM's ongoing Wildlife series, this issue draws on Canada's broader push through the 2010s to market fine silver fractionals and bullion-adjacent commemoratives to collectors outside the traditional numismatic base. The bighorn sheep subjects in this run were photographed in the Canadian Rockies specifically to serve as design references, a departure from archival illustration methods used in earlier wildlife issues.

The .9999 fineness — four nines — became the RCM's competitive calling card against the Perth Mint and U.S. Mint after 2014, when the Mint formally committed to it across the commemorative silver line.
