| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper left rim and 'COOK ISLANDS' along the upper right rim, with the denomination '20 DOLLARS' inscribed along the lower rim. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a polished field, characteristic of the fourth definitive effigy used on Commonwealth coinage from 1998. |
