| Obverse description | The obverse bears the uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, rendered in high relief in the contemporary portrait by sculptor Steven Rosati, whose initials SR appear at the truncation. The King is depicted in civilian dress with a collar and tie visible at the bust truncation.
