Nijūbashi — literally "double bridge" — refers to the pair of bridges leading to the inner grounds of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, one of which is reflected in the moat below, creating the doubled appearance that gives the structure its name. The site has been off-limits to the general public for all but two days each year since the current palace grounds were established in the Meiji period.
Cook Islands has issued gold in this fractional 3.11g weight as part of a long-running landmarks series, with Charles III's effigy appearing on Commonwealth issues from 2023 onward following his accession in September 2022.
