Obverse description The face of the cheque is dominated by the central text block carrying the demand payment inscription, denomination in large bold lettering, expiry date, issue date, and the BEARER CHEQUE designation, all set against a fine guilloche underprint in orange and green tones. The circular Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe vignette, incorporating the Zimbabwe Bird motif, appears to the left, with the Governor's facsimile signature and title below it. The numeral '20' is printed in large format at both the upper-left and upper-right corners.

Reverse description The reverse carries a central vignette of Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya — The Smoke that Thunders) on the Zambezi River, rendered in intaglio-style print against a multicolour guilloche background. The issuing authority's name is inscribed across the top of the note.
