Obverse description Two upturned hands cradling a globe depicting the Americas occupy the central field, set against a dramatic sunburst radiating to the rim. The Republic of Palau coat of arms appears in the upper portion of the field, inscribed with RAINBOW'S END below it. The series title AGES OF MAN arcs along the upper rim, while REPUBLIC OF PALAU runs vertically along the left and lower rim, and TWENTY DOLLARS along the right rim. The design conveys a cosmological theme of human stewardship of the Earth, rendered in a bold, graphic relief style with gold plating throughout.

Reverse description The reverse is divided into five radial segments, each depicting a scene representing one of the Five Suns (ages of creation) from Aztec cosmology. A central circular medallion in traditional Aztec style portrays the first primordial gods — the moon and sun — emerging from the void. Surrounding this central disc, an inner ring features the four directional wind gods rendered in pre-Columbian iconographic style, with a band of crocodile teeth motifs encircling the border between segments. Each of the five segments is individually labelled FIRST SUN through FIFTH SUN in the legend, with the date 2021 also appearing on the reverse. The overall composition draws faithfully from the Aztec calendar stone tradition, combining mythological narrative with intricate ornamental detail.
