The Antarctica Overseas Exchange Office Ltd. is a private novelty issuer with no governmental mandate, producing polymer notes marketed as collectibles under the guise of territorial currency. Point Wild is the rocky outcrop on Elephant Island where Ernest Shackleton landed his rescue party in 1916, depositing 22 men who then waited four months under an upturned lifeboat while Shackleton made for South Georgia.

These notes circulate only among collectors. No transaction has ever been settled with one in Antarctica.
