Liberia's late-1990s and early-2000s dollar series issued under the Taylor government flooded the market with silver commemoratives bearing American presidential portraits, most produced by foreign private mints with little connection to Liberian monetary policy. Many were sold directly to collectors and never circulated domestically.
Johnson himself was the first U.S. president to be impeached, surviving removal in 1868 by a single Senate vote.
