Obverse description The quartered coat of arms of Andorra occupies the central field, depicting the episcopal mitre and crosier of the Bishop of Urgell in the first quarter and the four vertical bars of Aragon in the second, with cattle in the lower quarters. The shield is encircled by a ring of twelve five-pointed stars, referencing the European Community, connected by a twisted rope motif. The circular legend reading JOAN D.M. BISBE D'URGELL I PRINCEP D'ANDORRA runs along the upper periphery, while the denomination ECU and date 1994 appear in the lower field within the star ring.
