Obverse description Central vignette of Al-Atiq mosque, one of the oldest surviving mosques in Libya, situated in the Sahara oasis village of Awjila in the Cyrenaica region of eastern Libya, rendered in intaglio against a fine guilloche underprint. The denomination numeral and issuer inscriptions appear in both Arabic and Latin scripts, with geometric ornamental borders framing the composition.

Reverse description Central intaglio vignette of a traditional mud-brick school building in Ghadames, the UNESCO-listed desert city, its angular mudbrick towers rendered in deep red against a warm orange guilloche underprint.
