Bornholms Nationalbank was not a central bank in any meaningful sense — it was a small regional savings institution on the Danish island of Bornholm, and its "banknotes" were promotional novelty issues produced for the tourist trade, never legal tender. The 1981 series, of which this 20 Daler piece is part, used the invented denomination "Daler" — an archaic Scandinavian currency unit long out of circulation — specifically to underline the non-monetary character of the pieces.
Essentially a souvenir coupon dressed in banknote clothing. Redeemable, if at all, only within whatever local commercial arrangement sponsored the issue.
