Additional information

Lithuania's interwar coinage was established almost from scratch following independence in 1918, with the litas monetary system not formally introduced until 1922. The 1925 aluminium bronze issues were among the earliest strikes produced for the new republic, minted in Berlin at the Staatliche Münze rather than any domestic facility — Lithuania had no mint of its own at the time.
