Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, her hair elaborately dressed and gathered at the nape with a ribbon bow, wearing a small crown or tiara secured by a beaded diadem. The truncation of the bust is plain. The peripheral legend reads 'VICTORIA QUEEN' disposed around the upper arc, with the field bordered by a continuous beaded inner circle and a toothed milling at the rim. The portrait is executed in the restrained classical style characteristic of Leonard Charles Wyon's work for British colonial coinage.
